Soliant Education is currently seeking a skilled Educational Sign Language Interpreter for a 1:1 SLI position with a 1st grade student in the Marysville, WA area for the 2024-2025 school year. This is a full-time contract position offering competitive pay, excellent benefits, and a supportive work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide on-site sign language interpreting services to a 1st-grade student in the classroom.
- Facilitate communication between the student and educators, including teachers, peers, and staff, using American Sign Language (ASL).
- Support the students participation in all classroom activities, ensuring understanding of lessons and materials.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to ensure the student's academic needs are being met.
- Maintain a professional and confidential relationship with students, teachers, and school personnel.
- Attend IEP meetings and other relevant school meetings to ensure the students success.
- Ensure compliance with school policies and educational standards regarding sign language interpreting.
Requirements:
- EIPA (Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment) score of 4.0 or higher. (If not quite 4.0, please apply and discuss with recruiter)
- Valid Sign Language Interpreter certification.
- Prior experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a school environment.
- Ability to maintain a flexible, patient, and positive approach with students and staff.
- Ability to work full-time during school hours for the 2024-2025 school year.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Hourly Pay: Minimum $43 per hour, up to $50 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
